Audiority Xenoverb is a reverb plugin for macOS and Windows, and is now also available for iOS AUv3 with 10 distinct reverb algorithms.

In recent years, more and more VST plugin developers have made the decision to offer their products for iOS: AudioThing, Eventide, Moderatt, Unfiltered Audio and many others.

One of the newest is Italian developer Audiority, which has two apps in the App Store: L12X Solid State Amplifier and Big Swarma. Now there’s a third: Audiority has ported Xenoverb, a popular reverb plugin for macOS and Windows, to iOS.

Xenoverb is a popular multi-mode reverb plugin that has been available for macOS and Windows for years. With the iOS version, Audiority gives us the flexibility of Xenoverb, now also for mobile devices.

The plugin and algorithms are identical to the desktop version. Like the VST, it’s a very simple to use pedal-style reverb plugin with just a few settings.

You can change the pre-delay, diffusion, time, modulation, tone, bloom, low-pass filter cutoff, and dry/wet mix. Additionally, there is a freezer and reverb limiter that can be turned on or off.

The strong point of the Xenoverb plugin is its wide selection of algorithms, ranging from classic to creative and experimental. You can work with 10 different programs:

  • bedroom: a flexible room algorithm
  • room: a classic yet versatile room reverb, ranging from small concert halls to huge canyons
  • board 1: classic plate reverb found in 70s hardware processors.
  • board 2: an extended version of a classic slab algorithm found in hardware processors from the late 1970s
  • elastic: a fully algorithmic spring reverberator
  • glass (FDN): a modern, highly diffusive and transparent reverberation
  • to flow: a lush, smooth and extremely diffusing creative reverb based on 90s hardware processors
  • shimmer: a gentle reverb with a double pitch shifter in a feedback loop
  • portend: a weird sound design oriented algorithm created by placing a frequency changer in the reverb feedback loop
  • forming: a unique reverb algorithm featuring a formant filter before the reverb tank

Xenoverb includes a range of presets that allow you to instantly experience the reverb in your music.

First impression

I’m happy to see that Audiority’s application portfolio is also slowly growing. Xenoverb is a great reverb, and having it on iOS is great news.

Audiority Xenoverb is available now for $8.99 on the Apple App Store. It works as a standalone app and AUv3 plugin on iOS (iPhone/iPad). The macOS and Windows versions (VST/VST3/AU/CLAP/AAX) are available for €49.

To celebrate this release, you can get the VST version for €29 instead of €49 on the official website.
