In September and October, your iPhone will probably display a new software update that could shock you. iOS 26 arrives, according to the reports of renowned Mark Gurman Apple Report in Bloomberg.
It is a big change for Apple to move away from the incremental numbering system which has been in place since the very first iPhone in 2007.
Each year in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple announces new versions of their range of key software, the iPad separating from its own operating system in 2019 – called iPad OS 13 in accordance with this year iPhone publication software.
But, if the rumors are true, in just a few weeks, we will hear about iOS 26, Apple seeking to align their software with the year of use, and with the next iOS deploying in the last three months of 2025, it is logical to call it iOS 26.
TRUE? We do not know, but it seems legitimate and makes sense.
Samsung has done a similar thing with their device numbers, going from the Samsung Galaxy S10 in 2019 to S20 in 2020 to line up on the release year, which has been very useful in dating devices since 🙂
