Bitgo secures the EU cryptography license license


The American Crypto goalkeeper Bitgo has become one of the first unwanted companies to obtain a license under the EU markets directive in Crypto assets (Mica).

The license, which has been awarded by the Federal Financial Supervision Authority (BAFIN) of Germany will allow Bitgo to extend its digital asset service through the EU.

Bitgo opened his EU subsidiary in Frankfurt in 2023 and at that time, he obtained regulations in Italy, Spain, Poland and Greece.

The EU launched the Mica directive in 2024 as a means of regulating the market for digital assets and crypto rapidly growing.

Currently, cryptographic companies operating in Europe have until June 2026 to comply with the rules of mica.
