Governor of California Gavin Newsom sign A new bill on Monday which aims to improve online security by creating obstacles to developers of AI technology.
Bill 53 of the Senate, also known as Transparency in Frontier Artificial Intelligence Act (TFAIA), has a aim to promote the development and improvement of new technologies while protecting the freedom and safety of Internet users. The legislation obliges the companies in AI to publicly disclose the security protocols that companies use when they meet a “border” barrier. Companies confront the “border” barriers when an enormous amount of energy is necessary to carry out a calculation of the AI. Protocols are supposed to protect themselves against activities that could cause massive destruction or chaos, such as large -scale hacking projects.
In a statement, Newsom highlighted its objective of continuing to make California one of the leaders of the world in the development of AI technology:
California has proven that we can establish regulations to protect our communities while ensuring that the growing AI industry continues to thrive. This legislation establishes this balance. The AI is the new border of innovation, and California is not only there for this – but is strong as a national leader by adopting the first legislation on the security of the first nation border which strengthens public confidence as this emerging technology evolves rapidly.
New legislation received The planned counterpoux of AI companies, many of which have argued that AI law should be carried out at the federal level.
The declaration is in line with Newsom’s previous preceding objective for California to be a world leader in AI technology. Earlier this year, Newsom asked AI developers to publish a report on AI in California for the first report of the nation in California. The report contributed to consolidating the first classification of California as a national leader in ethical and responsible AI.
