Can a Generative AI Platform Enhance Workflow Triage and Efficiency in Radiology?

Could tedious manual mining of electronic health record (EHR) data and other patient history information be a thing of the past?

Based on a combination of ambient listening and DSE data, the Newly launched multimodal Viz Assist (Viz.ai) provides patient summaries based on artificial intelligence (AI), according to Viz.ai. The company said Viz Assist uses autonomous AI agents that focus on key clinical signals and relevant information to help reduce the cognitive load on radiologists and other clinicians.

Highlighting the goal of streamlining clinical documentation, Viz.ai noted that Viz Assist’s capabilities could be expanded over time to provide coding recommendations based on the combination of imaging, ambient listening, and EHR data for patients.

“Viz Assist represents a remarkable advancement in healthcare,” said Peter Kan, MD, chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch. “This platform does much more than just send alerts: it works seamlessly in the background to identify critical patients, automates clinical documentation, saving us time, provides the most relevant information in real time, and coordinates the actions of the entire care team. In many ways, it has the potential to function as an additional expert on staff, available 24/7.”
