Last weekend, I went home from a wonderful break in the country. I generally use Google Maps to guide me at me on longer discs, even if I have already talked about this path. It is more comfort than a necessity. However, he did his best to take me in an unwanted adventure.

To return to the house of the small town I visited, I had the choice between a faster toll road or the longest picturesque collar that leads them. I selected the drop in “tolls to avoid” before leaving, thinking that the application would suggest using the pass. After all, it was the best alternative available. It was not at all the case. The cards rather suggested two extremely divergent roads that would have taken me two hours north or 90 minutes south of the best route. Absence, I came so close to taking the suggested differences. And if I had not curiously watched my Android Auto screen, I would have finished further from my home.

This incident opened my eyes to the biggest problem affecting the reliability of Google Maps navigation, especially on the open road. Having read countless takes online on the cards that guide drivers on obtuse routes, I would say that this is a fairly wide problem. So if you have a story to tell, I would like to hear it. I’m sure other readers would do it too.

Here are the questions:

  • Has Google Maps already lost you? If so, tell us about the experience.
  • What is the worst place Google Maps has ever taken you?
  • Do you think the cards have become more inaccurate and less reliable over time?
  • What is your favorite navigation application on Android, and why do you choose it?
  • Do you want to pay a bonus for a Google Maps that offers smarter navigation and more conscious contextually?
