Can you use Apple Airpods on an Android phone?

Apple Airpods is revered for their impressive sound quality, its powerful noise cancellation and their practical ecosystem capacities. If you are a devotee of Apple – by having everything, an iPhone and an iPad to a MacBook and Apple TV – you will know how perfectly your AirPods move between the devices.

Now what’s going on when you bring a Android phone or tablet to an AirPods party? There is a good chance that you can be invited to leave. But if the host is ready to look beyond this anomaly, you may be wondering if your precious AirPods will even connect to an Android device. Fortunately, Apple has designed its headphones and headphones to operate with more than Apple equipment.

That said, you will miss some features and user interface shortcuts to which only users of iOS or iPados will have access. If it doesn’t make you too upset, here are some tips on how to associate your Apple AirPods with a Android phone or tablet.

Associate AirPods with a non -Apple device

The first thing you will have to do is confirm that your Android device is ready for Bluetooth appearance. Access Settings> Connections> Bluetooth and make sure it is tilted. The next steps you have to take will finally be determined by the type of airpods you have:

For AirPods 1, 2, 3 or any AirPods Pro model, make sure your airpods are in their case. Open the cover, then press and hold the configuration button at the rear of the AirPods case. After about five seconds, the indicator must flash white, indicating that the headphones are ready to be matching. If you have one or the other version of the AirPods 4 (ANC or NO Anc), simply open the housing, with your airpods inside, then double the front of the case to put the airpods in twinning mode.

For owners of AirPods Max (Apple over-ear earphone), simply press the noise control button for about five seconds, how much the indicator should start white. Once your AirPods product appears on the list of available Bluetooth devices on your Android phone, just press couples.

The features and technology to which you will not have access

We understand perfectly why a non -Apple device would always want to use Apple Airpods; They are comfortable, sound well and offer an incredible old performance. But there are several AirPods features and customizations that are only available for iOS and iPados users.

To start, you will not be able to switch transparently between audio devices, because it is a feature that is based on iCloud and your Apple ID. Instead, you will have to go manually to a non -Apple device each time you want to bounce between your Android phone and your laptop. The owners of Android devices will also not have access to Siri hands -free commands or customizable tap gestures. While third -party apps like Materialspods allow you to program some shortcuts from the Android device on your AirPods – such as the possibility of invoking Google Assistant – you will not get the same level of personalization as iOS and iPados provide.

Other Apple exclusives, you will not have access to include the head tracking of the head tracking, find my integration, EQ iOS parameters (you will need a third -party application for EQ adjustments) and even updates of the firmware.
