Crypto Exchange Kraken wins the Mica license in Ireland


Cryptocurrency Exchange Kraken obtained a license to operate in the Republic of Ireland under the markets of the European Union in cryptographic assets (Mica) Rules.

Kraken will now be able to offer crypto services in the 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EEE)allowing him to extend his activities much faster in the region, The exchange said on Wednesday.

“This license places us in a solid position to extend our product offer, develop our institutional and commercial customers and provide secure, accessible and entirely regulated crypto services to millions of additional people in the EU,” Kraken Co-PDG said Arun Sethi.

The acquisition of a Mica license ensures additional assurance that an exchange meets standards on the EU level on protections, transparency and consumer monitoring, added Kraken.

The sixth greatest crypto exchange in the world by commercial volume joins a number of his peers by winning mica licenses in recent months. Coinbase obtained approval in Luxembourg at the beginning of the month, while Bybit did in Austria in May.
