European Tourism Boards Embrace AI, But Face Skills Gap


European tourism agencies find it difficult to go beyond the experimental phases with artificial intelligence, even if their marketing departments adopt the technology of content creation and translation tasks, according to a new industry report.

The European Travel Commission will publish the results of a survey of national tourism organizations on the state of adoption of AI in tourism on Thursday. The investigation revealed a gap between interest and implementation, Skift exclusively learned.

The survey revealed that 93% of national tourism councils across Europe have at least tried AI tools, but little integration of AI tools in their operations and their daily work.
