The war is (finally) finished – finally, for the moment. After 1,740 days (almost five years), Fortnite returned to iOS in the United States, which is right – users can finally return to the island. Epic has confirmed that the emblematic Battle Royale is now available on the Apple App Store, Altstore and Epic Games Store.
Fortnite was initially deleted from the App Store in 2020. This is an in progress war between Epic and Apple Games because Epic added its own payment method in the Fortnite application on iOS devices. The first step towards Victory Royale for Epic was when Fortnite returned to iOS devices in the EU region.
However, following a major court decision in the Epic Games vs Apple case, where Apple was ordered not to withdraw purchases made outside of its platform, Fortnite returned. Official confirmation was released just after Epic Games decided to bring Apple back to court.
Epic CEO, Tim Sweeney, confirmed his intention to relaunch the game, submitting it to Apple on May 9 via the company’s EU developer account. Although Apple has briefly blocked the return of the application to avoid complications in other regions, a judge put pressure on both parties to settle the dispute and resolved the question. So, after a quick iOS withdrawal in the world, Fortnite is “therefore”!
How to download Fortnite on iOS devices
On May 21, Fortnite officially reappeared on the App Store. Epic and Apple jointly confirmed that all related problems had been resolved. Players can now download a small launcher from the App Store and install the full game, about 13 GB, to play. To download Fortnite on iOS in the United States, you must go to the official Link of the App Store And download the game.
Fortnite works on iPhones that have at least 4 GB of RAM and perform iOS 17.6 or later. The iPhone 11 and the new models support Fortnite as long as they execute iOS 17.6 or later. However, the iPhone SE (2nd generation), also known as iPhone SE (2020), does not support the game because it has only 3 GB of RAM. You can consult the detailed list of iPhones and iPads supported here.
To soften the return, Epic has introduced a new promotion. Players using the EPIC payment system in Fortnite, Rocket League or Fall Guys on several platforms (including iOS) will gain 20% in EPIC awards. These can be used on future purchases.
The iOS version now also highlights the 20% bonus during V-Bucks purchases. In addition to the recovery, Fortnite recently launched a new season on the theme of Star Wars on May 2. This gives players of return even more reasons to jump.
