Tl; DR

  • Google added a new leap button in the discover flow.
  • It only appears when accessing Discover from the launcher, not inside the Google application.
  • The button is available in the latest beta version and appears when you scroll.

Some people are content to constantly scroll the Google Discover flow, but others want to return to the latest updates as quickly as possible. Big Tech will always force if he keeps you on the platform, and the latest beta version of the Google application (V16.28.59.SA.Arm64) now includes a jump button.

We noticed that the new button is only available when you access Discover from the launcher by sliding directly from the home screen. If you open it via the Google application itself, the shortcut does not appear. Even from the launcher, the button only appears when you start scrolling up, so as not to interfere on those who continue. You can see it in action in the video below.

It is an adjustment of the minor user interface, but which reflects other applications and will be welcomed by most people. The button appears consistently on our devices running the latest beta version, so it seems to be widely deployed. This happens in the heels of revelation that Google also tests the SIBTS and SUMMENTS OF AI in the discovery flow.

There is no word to find out if the same jump button will be added to the discover flow in the Google application, but we will keep an eye on.
