Tl; DR
- Google Drive for Android now has a redesigned video player with easier to use reading controls.
- The mobile download process has also been improved with the name change, the selection of files and the monitoring of clearer progress.
- The two features are now deployed to all users of Google Workspace and Personal Drive.
Google regularly modernizes its main storage application. The latest Google player for Android updates focuses on the ease of downloading videos and files.
According to Google workspace blogThe Android application finally obtains the same revised video player who deployed on the web last year. The refreshed design moves the reading commands under the video rather than superimposing them, which makes them easier to see and use. It also includes quick access to legends, reading speed and full screen mode.
We first previewed the Android version of this reader in March, when the code in a Drive Teardown application alluded to the visual revision. At the time, the update layout could be activated manually but had not yet been deployed to users.
Google Drive’s mobile download experience also gets a facelift. You can now rename files and select their destination folder as soon as you press the download, and a new progress bar gives a clearer view of the quantity of remains. There is also a download tab where you can keep track of downloads pending and recently finished.
The two changes have been fully deployed to all customers in the workspace and the Google Personal accounts.
