For some, the Google Drive scanner is how they scan documents and receipts, and the Android application tests a change that makes it more important.
Currently, Google Drive for Android has a four -paved background bar and two Fabs. The large floating action button “Plus” allows you to create a new folder, download, scanner and Google Docs / Leaves / Slides. The second is a regular size fab above to immediately launch the scanner of the camera.
Google is now testing a “scan” tab dedicated alongside the house, star, shared and files in the lower bar. Appearing in the center, it simply opens the interface of the full screen camera, while the most FAB comes back to a normal size. Google increased shortened earlier this year to better highlight the camera.
Old vs new
The implementation of an analysis in the lower bar reflects the way this functionality is a key use case for people that Google considers it necessary to get up in a central section. Personally, I think five tabs in a lower bar seem a little busy. Google cards and photos in the past year have consolidated three tabs.
So far we only see this scanner change on an account with the Google Drive version 2.25.220.0 for Android.
