- These options are currently only available in the Android Canary version of August 2025, but we expect it to be long before they make their way on the QPR2 track.
Hobuant The heels of the launch of Pixel 10, Google has unveiled a new Android Canary version. The Android Canary Update of August 2025 has been deployed today to users registered in the Canary Program, and it finally brings a long -awaited personalization option: the possibility of personalizing icon forms on the home screen. Although the new version does not allow you to create your own icon form, it allows you to choose from five delicious presets, one of which will certainly suit your fantasy.

After installing the latest Canary version and opening the Wallpaper & Style application, developer Kieron Quinn Noted that the “icons” menu had changed. Instead of only having a rocking to activate the icon theme, the “icons” menu now has several icon shape options. These include the shape of the default circle as well as new squares, four-side cookies, seven-side cookies and arc options.

Interestingly, the sixth form of “complex clover” that we spotted in March is absent from this page. We do not know why this form has been removed, but maybe it faced too much with certain icons.
Another thing that is missing from this version is the new forced icon theme functionality that Google added in Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1. We do not know why, but we suspect that it is simply a quirk of the structure of the date and the version of the last canari against the last beta QPR. The next version of Canary can add the forced theme feature, while the next Beta QPR2 version is likely to obtain these new icon shape options, although nothing is guaranteed. We will monitor the two version tracks to see what is going on with this feature as well as the other personalization options of to come from Google to come.
