- A few months ago, Google introduced four new voices for AI mode for research in a Google Beta application.
- These voices take place now and are no longer limited to IA mode.
- You can now hear these same voices when you do a voice search via the micro icon.
Update: May 27, 2025 (11:15 p.m.): It seems that Google began to deploy the new voices inspired by the space for vocal research that we mentioned in dismantling the APK below. Some members of our team already see them in vocal settings, you may want to check if they are also available on your device.

When we discovered earlier this year that Google was planning to add vocal research capacities to IA mode for research, we found that users would have four different voices to choose. At the time, the page of vocal parameters listed these options as jungle, lime, royal and sapphire. However, we later found that the names had been changed in something more linked to space: Cosmo, Neso, Terra and Cassini. Although these vocal options were initially available only for AI mode, it seems that these voices are no longer limited to this functionality.

In our latest APK disassembly of the Google application (version 16.20.48.SA.RM64 beta), we have learned that you will also hear these same four voices when you do a voice search via the Mic. This is the case for the pixel launcher / widget and for the home screen of the Google application. Previously, this functionality used only one female voice. In the video below, you can hear Neso’s voice in action.
