Moohan project, revisited
Last December, Samsung announced the Moohan project, a virtual reality headset based on the newly unveiled Android XR platform (at the time). Since then, it’s a waiting game, because Samsung has slowly teasing more details on his helmet plans.
For example, we know that the finished product arrives later this year, and a brownlee brands practice from January seemed to suggest that AI is very integrated into the helmet. (This would be in accordance with last week’s announcement during the Android program on Gemini who find his way in more devices.)
Does Samsung get a stage time during a Google event to talk about one of its own products? It could happen. But it seems more likely that Project Moohan gets a temporary reference, with Google, speaking of other devices that will benefit from Android XR.
Arrival of Android 16
It’s weird to go to an E / S Google knowing that Google will not spend much time – if necessary – on Android. But most of the news seems to have been taken care of last week when Google spoke about changes in the interface to Android 16 during its Android Show streaming event. And if that is not enough for you, the Android 16 Beta has already been in nature since January, presenting us features such as live updates, adaptive applications and more.
Really, at this stage, we just expect a Google release date, and this was offered during the Android program last week – at least in general terms. Sameer Samat from Google said that Android 16 would be available for Pixel devices next month, with availability for other phones – including Samsung Galaxy S models – to come in summer.
Revisit the Astra project
Project Astra was the demo that fell from Google from Google I / O 2024, with an assistant powered by AI who was intelligent enough to see what you see and respond to voice commands. It is an excellent example of multimodal AI, and although some of its features can be found in Gemini Live, Astra is really considered an AI assistant for smart glasses.
We are planning an update of the ASTRA project on Google E / S of this year, so it can be useful to revisit the Demos 2024 which included the use of the camera on a phone to allow the AI assistant to recognize the objects, answer questions and act on the data he recognized.
Meet Gemini 2.5 Pro
Before Google I / O of this week, we have already had an index on at least one software update which should benefit from a certain attention during the show. Gemini 2.5 PRO PREVIEW (E / S Edition) made its debut earlier this month, with Google likely to explain more about the update during its E / S conference.
The update focuses on coding and creating interactive web applications, according to Google. More specifically, Google has emphasized the invites based on coding in all areas, with a particular emphasis on the transformation of the code and the editing of the existing code.
Given the orientation centered on the developers of E / S, it would not be unimaginable that Google devotes a certain time during his E / S speech on this particular subject.
Competient of Google Pinterest
According to a report in InformationGoogle I / O could see Google present a new service which is intended to challenge Pinterest.

Do smart glasses come to Google E / S?
With all discussions on the ASTRA project and Android XRIt is inevitable that a kind of intelligent glasses will appear at Google I / S, even if it is only a demo to show how the efforts of Google IA can work in mixed reality. And Google is to stamp this conversation.
At the end of the Android Show flow last week, Android chief Sameer Samat mentioned a number of exciting demos to come to E / S this week … because he very significantly put a pair of sunglasses. An Android 16 wish
We do not know what Google has suggested on Android 16 – if he has something to say in the wake of an entire event last week dedicated to Android. But if the subject appears, my colleague John Velasco has a request: he wants to see the office mode becoming a permanent element for Android.
Samsung offers Dex on its flagship phones to use your phone as a laptop replacement when you connect it to an external monitor. And Pixel phones also have this capacity, although it is a bit of a hidden feature on the latest Pixel 9 models. Nevertheless, says John, it is something that all Android phones could benefit.
In the search for E / S
Earlier, I published an E / S Google overview, which covers a little more some of the things that we will see likely to see during the speech. But I also wrote on the strong focus of the program on the AI this year – at least, all the external signs – and why it leaves me a little suspicious.
It’s not really Google’s fault. But given the obsession at the Industry scale for AI lately – and the media to tangible media ratio very high – I find myself somewhat numb by the promises of what AI can do for me. This is particularly true after the features that have followed their path to me can impress in some cases, but they have not really had a significant daily impact of technology.
I do not need to see a breakthrough in this regard to Google I / S. But I hope that Google spends more time explaining the potential advantages of the technology it shows instead of simply focusing on the WOW factor.
