Tl; DR

  • The first version of QPR of Android 16 entered beta tests last month.
  • Two weeks ago, we obtained QPR1 Beta 2 with a handful of new features.
  • Today, QPR1 BETA 2.1 arrives, offering some fixes for problematic bugs.

If you have never really been to test Android updates in Google’s development, it’s probably the best time to start. Pixel owners can oppose Google beta programs for early access to the latest platform features, and this year’s modifications to the Android development program have given these testers a constant flow flow to try. Last month, Google began the cycle for the first quarterly version of Android 16 Beta (QPR), and today we see its last update arrive.

Google I just announced Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1, now available for Pixel 6 and subsequent devices. This one follows QPR1 Beta 2 of a few weeks, and it introduced new features in the form of personalized keyboard shortcuts and an office window experience. But as you can perhaps guess from the appointment of punctual release today, we are much more in minor-bug-fix territory this time.

All in all, Google identifies four corrections that the testers can hope:

The rear button problem seems incredibly frustrating, and no one likes a launcher crash, but overall, it does not seem that something really revolutionary is addressed here. Again, this is exactly what we expect to see in a beta version at this stage of development, with Google which takes things up before the exit.

Most of us can expect this impatiently like the next drop in pixels, probably in September, but if you don’t want to wait so long, make sure you are registered for Google Android beta for pixel program to start receiving these versions.
