Google has updated various Android parameter pages with expressive Material 3, and the “backup” overhaul brings a rather drastic simplification.
Consulted (on pixel) from settings> System> Backup, everything now adapts to a page. The card at the top has the name of your device with a state indicator and a “Back Up Now” button which is larger than before.
The big change is “backup details” with the page from six elements to two. “Photos & Video” is unchanged before and opens the Google Photos application.
“Other device data” now includes applications, SMS and MMS messages, call history, device parameters and Google account data. They are no longer listed separately with specific breakdowns.
Old
The full page has a drop in “other device data” for “contacts, call history, device parameters, applications and applications, SMS and MMS and Sims messages”.
The Google One Cloud storage indicator has been moved here, while you also have the parameter to “use mobile or tablet Wi-Fi”.
For most users, this overhaul is certainly simpler, but the loss of additional details is a shame.
This rescue overhaul takes place on all Android devices with the 25.33 version of Google Play Services.
