In a rather curious announcement on Wednesday morning, Google told users to update Instagram to “solve a battery emptying problem on Android devices”.
This “Battery bottle on Android devices“Post on the Android Help community is quite short:” From today, Instagram deploys an update application which should solve a battery emptying problem on Android devices. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Instagram application (Build 382.0.0.49.84) to solve this problem. »»
It does not provide any other details on the problem, especially if a particular manufacturer (Pixel, Samsung, etc.) or an Android OS version is affected. Google simply specifies the 382.0.0.49.84 version of Instagram, which has deployed Via the Play Store Today, as having the fix.
Update: In response to certain reports on the pixel battery discharge with the ota of May 2025, Google directed us today to the Android announcement above.
We have not noticed or heard of a particular problem in recent days with the emptying of the Instagram battery. Google must consider this as a sufficient problem to justify such a public announcement, although it is a major application. In general, Instagram is one of these applications that people – wrongly or wrongly – prescribe as being responsible for the battery discharge. Keep in mind that it is both a camera application and video consumption.
Make sure to comment below if you have had battery emptying problems in recent days and note which version of device / operating system
