How to change the repetition length of your iPhone in iOS 26

Who does not hit the rehearsal button on their alarm clock at least once every morning? Although I do not always fall asleep, my goal is usually to have the ringtone stopped. This usually means pressing each button on my phone until it goes out. But in cases where I go back to sleep, I am always awake after the countdown of the rehearsal of nine minutes – after all, it is the only option available … For the moment.

Nine minutes still seemed so random for me with regard to the rehearsal duration of the alarm clock of the iPhone. Of course, I looked at why Apple Choose this issue, and it apparently goes back to decades for the moment when the function was invented for the first time for mechanical awakenings, according to that Apple explained YouTube video. At the time, 10 minutes was not an option because “they could not adjust the teeth of the clock equipment to align perfectly for a 10 -minute nap.” Therefore, their only options were nine minutes and a few seconds or almost 11 minutes. Apple has decided to stick to this tradition.

But all of this changes with iOS 26 because there is a new option that allows you to change the duration of your alarm when you are not yet ready to get up. Here is where to find it.

How to modify the alarm repetition parameter of your iPhone

Changing how long you can sleep after your alarm is triggered is a dream for iPhone owners – but it becomes a reality with iOS 26. You may think: “Wow, I can finally put my phone to repeat for an hour.” But no, you can’t. If you need so much time, simply define a separate alarm. No one wants to hear your ringtone triggered six times.

Instead, the rehearsal time varies from one to 15 minutes. Here’s how to do it:

Open the clock app and make sure you press the “alarms” icon at the bottom if it is not already selected. Then press the Plus icon in the upper right corner. From here, you will see a new option which indicates the duration of repetition. Although this 9 -minute annoying duration is always selected by default, you can now press the “9 min” button, which allows you to scroll down or down to choose the duration of your rehearsal. You can choose between 1 and 15 minutes. When you have finished making changes, press the check icon in the upper right corner.

This parameter also works in sleep | Also wake up the section, but you will have to configure it first … which brings me to the next section.

How to merge your sleep schedule with health

This parameter is actually available on iOS 18 at the moment, so you don’t have to wait to try it. To start, just press the configuration. This is actually an interesting feature because you can define a sleep objective and add a timer to stop – your phone will alert you when it’s time to relax or go to bed.

You can choose your favorite bedtime and awakening time with an option to define an alarm. The alarm is not automatically defined when you enter this information, so you will have to switch the switch under the alarm options. Once you have done this, you can change the volume, the ringtone and the rehearsal duration (if you have iOS 26).

Again, press the 9 min button to change the duration of your rehearsal. Press the Check Mark icon to save your changes. He will then ask you if you want to apply this change every day of the week. You can select “Change the next alarm only” or “Modify this calendar”.

If you don’t want to wait until iOS 26 is going out this fall to try this feature, you can Install the public beta version on one eligible iPhone.
