The customization of your iPhone locking screen is not new, because Apple has offered this capacity since iOS 16. But iOS 26 brings a new dimension to lock the customization of the screen, bringing adaptive time and spatial photo features to the mixture.
The adaptive time is based on the liquid glass interface by making its debut on iOS 26, so that the clock on the locking screen evolves dynamically to fill the scene, interacting with the image you have chosen as wallpaper of the lock screen. Speaking of this wallpaper, the space photo function can give any image you choose from depth and 3D effects, so that the prospect of the photo changes when you move your phone.
You can see the impact of these modifications by yourself when you download the public beta version iOS 26. Otherwise, the changes will be available for all the devices supported by iOS 26 when the full version of the iPhone software update will be released in the fall. (An exception: you will need an iPhone 12 or later to live space photos.)
If you have not created your own iPhone locking screen for some time, it is worth examining how to make these changes once you have gone to iOS 26, because there are many more options at your disposal than in recent iOS versions.
