Chrome has been launched for the first time for the first time on Android for the first time. Basically, the application has not changed much in all these years: I type an URL and the page takes care. During all these years, however, Chrome did not make up for the rest of Google’s applications in key functionality: management of the multiple account.
Most official Google applications quickly allow me to switch between the different Google accounts, and they have done so for many years now, since 2010-2011, to be precise. Chrome, however, does not allow this for any reason, and it is the scourge of my existence. To solve this problem, I always install Chrome Beta (and Chrome Dev) on my Android phones. Here’s why and how I operate it for myself.
Do you use Chrome Beta, DEV or Canary to create two separate sessions or navigation profiles?

What Chrome Beta allows me to do this chrome stable

I am probably not the only person to have several Google accounts. Many people have at least two – personal and work / school – and potentially more for other purposes. For me, there is staff, work to Android authorityAnd a joint with my husband, which we use for all invoices, reservations, documents and shared purchases.
From the start, I have established a clear separation between these three accounts. I do not bind them in the same chrome profile on my desktop computer; Instead, I use separate chrome profiles that allow me to keep the church and the private state. In this way, my navigation on work does not affect my personal recommendations, and my personal data do not disclose work or my shared joint account.
Bookmarks, navigation history, cookies, caches, default addresses and payment methods, recorded connections and passwords – all these elements are separated between each account and profile because they serve completely different objectives.

On my Android phone, however, Chrome only allows me to connect to an account and synchronize all this data. If I want to go to another account, I can’t just slide on my avatar and ride it between the staff, the work and the seal. No, I have to log out and then connect with the other account, do what I need, then don’t forget to sign the first. I did it for a whole day in 2012 and I immediately regretted it. So it came to my mind: there is also Chrome BetaCan I connect with another account?
I use Chrome and Chrome Beta to separate bookmarks, history, recommendations, connections and other recorded data from my work accounts and other recorded data.
And of course, I was able to keep my personal account linked to the main Chrome application on my phone, then connect to my work account on Chrome Beta. I finally had a configuration which was almost as good as what I had on my computer! I could keep my navigation and my separate personal data and control what each profile sees and knows about me. Perfect.
The application has “beta” in its name, and that should mean bugs, at least on paper. But during my 10 years and more use of the two browsers at the same time, I don’t even remember a case where Chrome Beta failed me. I’m sure it’s not as stable as the main version, and the bugs occur, but what I try to say is that it is generally good enough not to be a “beta” experience in daily life.

The only hiccups is to manage links from other applications. Say that I check a work email and I click on a link, it will open in my default browser, which is stable chrome, that is to say on my personal account. So I learned to copy the link URL, manually open the chrome beta and stick it. It’s boring, but not as boring as to sacrifice my private life by keeping all my data in a single browser.
In 2017, when I got married and created a joint account with my husband, I downgraded my less stable Chrome’s work account Chrome Dev Since I focused on a better balance between professional and private life and I used my phone less for work. My new google spouse account with my husband has become my beta chrome account to pillar. Dev had a few bugs in all these years, but again, I would call a dealbreaker. If you have even more Google accounts, you can go experimental and assign your less used Chromium. At this point, expect more frequent problems and bugs.
Unfortunately, the list of autonomous chrome applications stops there, so if you have five google or more accounts, you will not be able to connect with everyone. But four is a good start. Of course, it would be preferable that Google could add a profile multiple support in Chrome so that we do not have to use these bypass solutions, and those which have more than four accounts can always keep their navigation data separate. I had hope for this in 2012-2013, but in 2025, I think that hope wished and died.
You can always use the different Chrome applications to separate VPN from local navigation sessions, or have two chrome instances with different authorizations.
When I mentioned this chrome multiple tip in my article on Google applications that I always install on my pixel, reader Dark Vader said that he uses this same tip to another goal: to separate his VPN navigation from his ordinary local navigation using a VPN application that allows tunneling by application. I found this means fascinating and excellent to use these distinct chrome applications to meet different navigation needs, even under the same Google account. You can, for example, have a regular instance of chrome and another in beta version, where you do not allow the license browser, deactivate third -party cookies and choose different parameters or flags. It also seems very useful.
