I have tested countless smartphones, and the excitement of opening the box and removing the stickers from a new device never ages. I love holding the phone for the first time to see how it fits into my hand, and I can’t wait to pass the annoying initial configuration to test its capacities. It usually takes a few minutes, then I am ready to load my applications.
These days, I have certain essential applications that I first install on any new Android phone that I get. For me, they are the most useful and the most practical because I use them daily, and I end up installing others later when I am ready.
Spotify

As a member of the older generation, it took me a while to spend streaming services because I always kept my collection of physical media and old MP3. Preparation of the gym or trips on the road generally involved hours of preparation. I ate hundreds of files to find the songs I loved, then I copied them on my phone or my stick of memory. After that, I could access a limited number of songs and still need to create a reading list.
My younger brother introduced me Spotify During a road trip a few years ago, and I never looked back. All of a sudden, I had access to all the songs stored on my reader and millions of others. The application took me out of my musical comfort zone, and I started to appreciate the new songs and genres of artists that I had never heard of. For me, the best part was convenience. I have no longer waste time to create separate reading lists on my PC, my phone and my car memory stick because my whole music was now centralized in one place and accessible from anywhere.

I try to use my free time by driving in a productive way, and Android Auto integration was a big problem for me. In addition to having a soundtrack for traveling on the way, I now had access to podcasts that helped me improve my productivity or provide news on the world. It also helped that everything was sorted in the categories and is easy to find.
Antivirus avast

I think an antivirus is a necessity for any Android phone, and I choose Avasting Because it offers decent protection and other free features for free. Compared to Spotify, it is more a defined and surveying application that is not used much, but is still there when I need it, offering peace of mind on the safety of my device. It’s just good because advertisements can be boring, and I don’t want to pay for another subscription for the features I don’t need, like a safe and a VPN.
Avast does the job to seek threats. It also includes other NIFTY tools, such as a network scanner that automatically checks threats when connecting to a new Wi-Fi network. There is also a hacking alert to check if my email password has been disclosed. I occasionally use the Wi-Fi speed test function when I encounter connection problems, but I rarely need the dissolving of the unwanted file, which deletes unused cache and APK files from my phone.
Fiton

I only started using a fitness application last year when I decided to get back in shape, but now I’m addicted. Choosing the right one has been a challenge because most of the options are excellent, and it is difficult to be wrong with one of them. I finally settled Fiton Because it is free and offers complete features to fight against all aspects of my health. I am not a fitness fanatic, and fiton checks most of the boxes to inspire me to stop being lazy and becoming active. He succeeds by setting objectives and realistic weekly challenges that I can manage, allowing me to take things slowly. Connect Fiton to my Samsung phone allows me to follow my steps and my calories so that I can try to become more active.

When I feel unwanted, I navigate to the advice section to draw inspiration and learn the advantages of good health and good nutrition. I also appreciate being able to adapt my training to my abilities. I often choose shorter training between ten and twenty minutes and pick the average intensity. My home gymnasium is quite basic, but with fiton, I can try training that targets specific body parts, using the equipment I have. Fiton’s beauty is that it is full of all the features you expect from a modern fitness application, such as celebrity coaches and meal plans, so there is something for everyone. I have not yet obtained my diploma to use these features, but I will get there when I am ready.
Brave

I spend hours a day on the internet and I want the best browsing experience with the least ads. Brave is one of the first applications that I download on any phone because it has a default ad and tracker blocking, and provides a clean and refined interface that is easier on the eyes and faster to navigate. I can also choose the level of blocking between standard, aggressive or extinguish if I wish. The application also displays the number of ads and trackers blocked on the sites I visit, giving me an indication of their safety.
Brave has decent features outside the box, but I still modify specific parameters to maximize its confidentiality and protection. I allow the option to block filtering and add filters to delete newsletter windows and cat windows, as well as bypass paid wall filters. None of these features would be important if brave did not offer smooth navigation performance. I think it is just as practical and has less distractions than alternatives like Chrome and Edge.
Microsoft 365

Android Application Microsoft365
Microsoft 365 is an application that I install more out of necessity than the choice. I need to access my Word and Excel files when I am on the go and I can’t do without. I think OneDrive is the most useful feature because it is linked to my laptop, and I can open my documents, downloads and other folders from anywhere. I also save my Android phone gallery in OneDrive to ensure the safety of my photos and find at hand so that all my information is easily stored in one place.

The creation function in Microsoft 365 allows me to scan documents, extract text from websites and dictate vocal notes, but I only use these features or twice a month when I need it. I occasionally use PDF tools, but I have no use for teams, family security and other features. I feel the fatigue of AI, and I tend to avoid co -pilot unless there is no other way to solve a problem.
These are my choices for the applications that I cannot do without on a new phone, and everyone will have their own lists. There are no good or bad choices, and it always comes back to your taste and your requirements.
The above applications are the first five that I install on any phone, but there are many others that I cannot do without and install later. There is too much to mention on a single list, but they include VLC Player, Good Lock and Stream.
