ZDNET’s main dishes
- The Celero5g tab is available for as low as $ 100 for existing customers, with a data line costing $ 20 per month.
- It is a simple Android tablet without frills that you can take anywhere with you for light work and entertainment, whether there is Wi-Fi or not.
- The Celero5g tab is exclusive of the network with Boost Mobile, and it has a very limited memory and capacity, so I would not recommend it for demanding work sessions.
The good affordable tablets are few and difficult to find, but I was lucky to test several that completely impressed me. These include ipad at $ 300 11, $ 239 TCL NXTPAPER 10 and the MIDRANGAN HONOR PAD V9. Now I can add confidently the Celero5g tab to this list.

This tablet for the budget is an exclusive device on boost mobile networks, so it is only available via the operator and is supposed to be used with a mobile boost data plan. Existing customers with plans can get the Celero5g tab for only $ 100, which is quite affordable for an entertainment table.
Cheap tablets are perfect for entertainment because you don’t have to break the bank to get a good device that can accompany you wherever you go. As a person who takes my tablet with me almost everywhere, I like to be able to take out my Kindle application to read while I wait for my children to finish an extracurricular activity. I can broadcast content, play games, go through and make up for emails and work messages.
The Celero5g tab is a full HD tablet of 10.9 inch with a 90 Hz refreshment rate. It has a fairly good battery of 7,500 mAh and 128 GB of internal storage. The tablet has two main cameras, 13MP and 2MP and a 5MP front camera.
This tablet has audio boostmax, which improves the audio experience when listening to something on the two stereo speakers of the tablet. The difference when you turn on or deactivate Boostmax is remarkable, so it is a parameter that I would recommend using when broadcasting videos. The tablet also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is no longer so common in tablets, but is practical for many users.

The Boost mobile network is also surprisingly reliable, which makes the $ 20 / month database a practical addition. Without data plan, I have always used my phone hotspot to connect my tablet. But I also like to have cheap mobile plans, so the use of my hotspot drains my data. Having the cheap boost mobile plan means that I can disseminate content without worrying about my monthly data limit, while being able to count on the network to send emails and messages.
Because it is an affordable entry tablet, you can expect it to be a little slower than the other popular. This is why I recommend this tablet only for light work and entertainment.
Geekbench 6 scores | Unique CPU benchmark | Multi-Fond CPU benchmark | GPU benchmark |
iPad 11 | 2,596 | 6,237 | 19,848 |
Celero5g tab | 753 | 1,551 | 1,237 |
The Celero5g tab is not in the same category as the latest iPad basic model, so these geekbench scores are only for reference.
In my tests, the Celero5g tab worked well on daily tasks, but it was not very catchy. This tablet is ideal for basic use, but heavy games and video editing will prove to be frustrating. The comparison of the reference scores for the older iPad basic model with it has shown that the Celero5g tab has a third of the treatment power of the 8th generation 2020 iPad and approximately an eighth of the IPAD 11th generation GPU performance.
As an Android tablet, the Bloatware that the Celero5G tab is also delivered with influence its performance. The initial configuration invites you to accept certain mobile terms boost and gives application recommendations that you can refuse or accept. The recommendations have several default applications, so if you want to send their installation, you must make sure they are not selected.

I left the recommendations because they had to test the tablet, but it led to the installation of 66 applications from the start. Some applications crashed while looking at YouTube and browsing the web, so I decided to remove at least 20 of these entertainment games and applications. Fortunately, the abolition of a third of the applications made a marked difference in performance.
ZDNET purchase advice
THE Celero5g tab is a large affordable tablet for light work and entertainment. Many cheap tablets are traditionally considered a good choice for younger and older users, whether it is a child who uses it to play or an elderly adult who uses it for streaming. But the Celero5g tab is actually an excellent option for anyone. He is able to manage emails and work messages, write documents and go well to a means of entertainment. The price is certainly an attractive characteristic in itself.
However, if you are looking for a tablet that can manage more demanding tasks beyond web navigation and streaming, you will probably benefit from upgrade to an iPad 11th generation or a Lenovo Plus tab.
