If you don’t like going to the gymnasium, you may be looking for an alternative to the house to help you develop muscles and continue the right job in the comfort of your own house. It was my thought when I agreed to test the Speediance Gym Monster 2 in the long term, a home machine at home fed, and it is absolutely beautiful – if not completely perfect.
Before going further, in order to join the Monster 2 gym in your house, you will need a little space to adapt to the machine, but much less than most conventional home gymnasiums; This occupies a large amount of space when it is aligned in its closed position against the wall. Once folded, it needs a little more space but not a massive quantity; Remember that the surface of a rowing machine or one of the best treadmills would take.

The idea here is to lead you to develop muscles without risk of dropping free weights at home, while offering the strong resistance and freedom of movement required, as well as the advice of the best fitness applications integrated into the configuration. Before the arrival of Monster 2 from Gym, I used the gymnasium twice a week. One day, I made the five large movements including squats, lifts of earth, a push, a press and a portage. Then, a second day, I generally worked on details such as shoulders, rotating wrists, hips, arms and others, varying while I thought.
I was surprised to discover that I could really have four of my Big Five made on the Gym Monster 2, without having weight script either. Portage was not an option here, but I was surprised by the effectiveness of squat, lifting earth, push and traction options. In fact, thanks to security-based security, I could feel more confident and push myself where I might not have made free weight.
There are a few variations in this configuration, the bases covering most training sessions. The cable is adjustable, allowing you to perform vertical exercises such as biceps and horizontal exercises such as lines, cable flights and facial tractions. However, there are options on several levels with more attachments, such as an adjustable bench for even more training variations or a rowing machine.

What I loved
The heavyweights at home have traditionally meant to use a lot of space and hard work when preparing your gym at home. The configuration of Gym Monster 2 is simpler and a real space shop. I was impressed that it could go up to 100 kg, which, for me at least, is enough for a good training of earth lifting, although it may not be enough for standard athletes in series and lovers of earth lifts. The fact that he was on the wire meant that he seemed more sustained and safer to raise than a free bar, which is ideal for strengthening confidence with these heavy elevators.
The assistance function helps enormously here too. There are two parameters and these are intelligently helpless to support you, if you start to fight; This mode is like having an observer with you. He will detect that you slow down to the upper end of the movement, and will light up the weight so that you can finish this representative. It is both ideal for security but also for confidence, you find yourself growing beyond your limits to progress.
I also really liked variations in weight styles. Use eccentric mode, for example, and this will add resistance to both external and interior movements, allowing you to double the work in half of the time. It also means that you work more muscles for a better balanced global finish and, theoretically, faster gains too. The chain mode is similar, only it makes it more difficult to lift the movement of the representation you get, as if the chains hang you and curl up on the ground during movement, modifying the resistance.
Although many other home gym machines are ideal for cardio, I have never used one that is so ideal for bodybuilding and that has actually made it better than what is available in the gymnasium. The lessons are as useful as the movements are clear, while the machine uses AI to adapt the selection to your objectives. You do not feel rushing because you control with the possibility of “adding 15 seconds” on your timer between the sets if necessary. There are comments of very useful advice that help you think about how your body should be configured to lift safely and make the most of each movement. I feel like I have a coach with you.
I must admit that I expected to feel a little anxious using heavy goods vehicles on something that folds so small against the wall. However, when tight and descended, it is solid without oscillation at all. I felt completely comfortable even lifting the maximum end to 100 kg; The machine does not move.
The courses, it should be noted, are included and do not require a subscription. That said, Speediance will apparently start to charge subscription fees for the Wellness + AI guide function from June 1, 2025.
What I didn’t like
Although there are very few real reproaches on this machine, at the price it sells for you cannot help but even notice the slightest inconvenience.
Just at the front, there was a problem connecting to WiFi. Resolution? I had to reduce my security settings, which left me less than security but, in the end, was the only way to start this. It will not work at all without internet connection.
Once it was sorted, the simple installation process was finished and I had made a few classes, I found myself using the free weight mode to work as I needed. Once you have adjusted the weight and lifting style, you need to press the button to light the weight that immediately pulls the cables. This can be a problem during movements like the bench press; To start the exercise, you must press the button (behind you on the screen), then enter and under the weight with the heavy setting. It was too difficult to reach position sometimes. Speediid could do with the addition of an option to delay the added weight after pressing the button, so you have time to configure or use voice commands. This could also be a useful safety feature if you want to deactivate the mid-head weight.
Although the maximum weight is excellent, 100 kg, it seems a little less than a free weight of the same value. It’s a little more like doing it on the Smith machine, so you have this support and this security, but perhaps it is always less trying than the free weight version is. It is of course a good thing as well as harm, according to your training goals and if you prioritize security rather than force.
Another reproach, although relatively minor, is that some of the training takes you from the bar to the aisle at the bar, which means that you must continue to change the configuration each time. Perhaps the grouping in an order which minimizes the change of kit would be a better way to make the experience more transparent. That said, if the variation in weights helps your overall training, this has priority on convenience. But is surely common ground?
Finally, power is not ideal. You can digitally extinguish the machine, but it will make whirlwind sounds from time to time for a period, which can be distracting if you are in the room. Instead, I have turned it to the sector every time, which means a longer start-up.
Verdict
The Gym Monster 2 is a compact but expansive training configuration for the house which gives convenience while helping you push your limits safely.
The ability to train specific muscles, with comments on fatigue, is a really useful feature. The possibility of searching for training sessions that target certain areas, or to obtain only training suggested depending on the kit you select, also helps to concentrate training on results.
You could save by opting for the original gym monster, if you don’t mind that this new model offers a smaller footprint, an improved speaker system and better engine cooling configuration for a quieter race. However, it’s a superb way to safely push your strength earnings, and it will certainly come back for more.
