Apple released iOS 18.6.1 August 14 after the technology giant mentioned the update of mobile software in a blog Earlier in the day. The update has an experience of blood oxygen redrawn with iPhones associated with certain Apple watches, but not much else.
You can download iOS 18.6.1 by going to Parametersthen press General. Then select Software updatethen press Update And follow the prompts on your screen.
People with an Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 can also download Watchos 11.6.1 to provide the new blood oxygen application to their device. Apple wrote online that the update will not affect Apple watches which include the original blood oxygen function or the people who bought an Apple watch outside the United States.
“This update has been activated by a recent American customs decision” “” Apple wrote. “After this update, data from the Blood Oxygen application sensors on Apple Watch will be measured and calculated on the paired iPhone, and the results can be consulted in the respiratory section of the health application.”
Apple disabled blood oxygen functionality in January 2024, after a Import prohibition triggered by a patent dispute between Apple and Masimo.
