Apple says that CVE-2025-6558 was a vulnerability of the open source code which also affected Apple software. The fault could allow distant attackers to execute arbitrary code using HTML pages created for this purpose, escaping the chrome sand. Google corrected the problem on July 15 and said it was actively exploited.
In Safari, Apple said the problem could cause unexpected accidents, but it was not known to have been used in attacks on users of Safari.
