Mark Gurman de Bloomberg continues his IOS 19 Tidbits sequence by revealing two new features to come in the last edition of his Power on Newsletterwhich was published today.
Gurman says that iOS 19 will include a major location accent on support for water customers, Saudi Arabia and India. More specifically, this implies a new Arab-English software keyboard for iPhone and a new calligraphy pen for Apple Crayer users.
From Today’s power onGurman says:
I have two more notable features to share this week, and they play in Apple’s ambitions for the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and India. The company has expanded its retail imprint in these places – and markets are considered to be engines of future growth. To this end, two relevant iOS and iPados features arrive. One is a very advanced bidirectional keyboard to move between Arabic and English. The other is a virtual reed calligraphy pen for Apple Crayer users.
These software changes clearly play to support future sales growth opportunities in the main emerging markets for the company.
The new keyboard would probably allow users to easily type English and Arabic in the same context. The new REED pen would help users to use the virtual stylus to write digitally in a complicated Arabic script, recreating works of artistic calligraphy. Obviously, this last functionality is only relevant for iPados 19 due to Apple Crayer’s requirement.
Gurman previously reported that iOS 19 will include other smaller improvements such as improving the connection experience in WiFi networks in public captivity and optimizing the battery life fueled by AI. The major change for iOS 19 should be an overhaul of visual design, with a updated system theme, changes in applications navigation metaphors such as tab bars and updated icons.
