The upcoming iOS 26.1 update includes a small but useful change for iPhones.

Specifically, when an alarm goes off in the Clock app, there’s a new “slide to stop” command on the screen to turn off the alarm. On previous versions of iOS 26, there was simply a big “stop” button, which could be pressed accidentally.

The slider is located under the orange “snooze” button, which hasn’t changed in iOS 26.1.

This change – which also applies to timers – comes after Apple significantly increased the size of the “stop” button in the Clock app on iOS 26.

iOS 26.1 is currently in beta. The update will likely be released later this month.

PS Who remembers “slide to unlock”?
