The iOS 26 update is full of new features, and beta users discover a lot that Apple did not mention during its WWDC event – including a new ringtone buried in the operating system code, and it already divides opinion between the devotees of the iPhone.
The ringtone was noticed by X user @ 8810cfwwhich has published an audio screen recording in action. Other users, such as the MacRumors contributor Aaron Perrisconfirmed that the ringtone was authentic and had posted their own clips.
Entitled “Reflexalt1-enCoremix”, the tone rings as if it were played on an Xylophone or a similar instrument. Perris described it as “vitreous” – which could be one of the reasons for its inclusion in iOS 26 alongside the redesign of liquid glass.
A polarizing melody
The ringtone, however, apparently has a divided opinion on social networks. Many users have appreciated it, with reactions like “it’s a real banger”, “Oooo I like that” and “I love it!” Fill the comments sections.
Under Perris’ publication, the user @ Rightcrown5 even went so far as to say “Woah, that actually sounds incredibly well. It was for future generations what Marimba had been for users of OG iOS. ”
But not everyone is in love with Apple Secret Street. “It seems scary,” said a user, with another saying that he would “make me depressed”. The “vomit” emoji was used at least one opportunity.
We do not know if Apple will really include this ringtone in the final version of iOS 26 – we are still in the developer’s beta phase, with the public beta version which should be launched in July and the complete version to come later in the year.
However, with iOS 26, which facilitates the loading of your own personalized ringtones on your iPhone, you can perhaps spend this time by adding a different melody to your phone while you wait.
