After the publication of iOS 26 beta 5 for developers, Apple has just sowed the second public version of its next operating system update. While the previous version was already relatively stable, Apple continues to modify the experience before an autumn outing.
Since the iPhone 17 should be announced on September 9, it is possible that we are about a month from the candidate of the iOS version 26. That said, Apple still has a long way to go to ensure that iOS 26 works as well or better than iOS 18.
While the company is preparing the largest update of its smartphone software since iOS 7, Apple wants to make good impression as soon as iPhone owners update the latest version, which means crush as many bugs as possible and refine a user interface that will make the iPhone feel new but familiar. That said, here is what you should expect from the second public beta version.
iOS 26 public beta 2 adjusts the global experience
Although I think you should skip the public beta version iOS 26 for various reasons, several new features await you if you decide to take the risk. From public beta 1 to public beta 2, Apple made some additional adjustments, in particular:
- Mail: The mail application in iOS 26 beta now offers a selection button at the top of each box. With this, it is easier to select several messages to move them between the boxes, report or delete them. This function was previously hidden in the three -point menu.
- Camera: Apple added a switch to the settings of the camera application which allows you to reverse the management direction of the fashion switching during the sliding between the photo and video modes.
- New icons: The Airdrop and Fitness + Tab have received new icons with a more coherent design to adapt to the liquid glass experience.
- Bouncy Ui: Apple has added new animations for the password screen and when you slip between the control center pages.
- Battery indicator: Apple added a new battery indicator from the dynamic island when it reaches 20% on the iPhone.
We will let you know if we find something else and exciting in iOS 26 public beta 2. Apple has also published the second beta public versions of iPados 26, MacOS Tahoe, Watchos 26 and TVOS 26.
