After his debut on WWDC, iOS 26 is now in the developer’s beta scene. Apple should publish the public beta version in early July 2025, the final version being probably launched in mid -September – during the launch event of the iPhone 17.
In 2023, Apple allowed iPhone users to more easily try the beta versions of the iOS developer. Now you don’t need to pay or join the Apple Developer program to access it.
Instead, you can just connect with your Apple ID via the free Apple Beta software.
To install the iOS 26 BETA 1 developer, go to Settings> General> Software update> Beta updates on your iPhone and select the developer BETA option.
Once you have done this, the update will be available for download and installation in the air. It is important to save your iPhone before installing a beta version.

Apple continues to support the most recent iPhones with the iOS 26 update. The expected list of compatible devices includes the iPhone 17, 17 pro, 17 pro Max and 17 Air, as well as the whole ranges of the iPhone 16, 15, 14 and 13, the iPhone 12 series and the iPhone SE (2nd generation and more recent).
Ancient models such as the iPhone 11 and earlier may not receive this update.
