The five iPhone 16 models offer an audio mix function in the Photos application that allows you to change the sound of a video after recording. For example, you can reduce background noise in a video, so that the person speaking to the camera is clearer.
Starting with iOS 26, Apple allows third -party applications to offer the same audio mix commands as the photo application on the iPhone 16 and more recent.
The audio mixture, powered by automatic learning, offers four main options:
- Standard: Play the original audio you have recorded.
- In the frame: Reduce the sounds and votes of non -visible sources in the video frame.
- Studio: Reduce the background sounds and the reverberation, so that it sounds more as if you record in a professional studio.
- Cinematographic: Put all the voices on a frontal track and leave environmental sounds in surround, such as audio in films.
iOS 26 has some additional audio mixture options for background noise.
In order to use Audio Mix, the video must have been saved with the space audio. On all iPhone 16 models, space audio is automatically activated when you save the video. To adjust this setting, open the Settings app and press the camera → Save the sound.
Apple also allows mac thirds to offer audio mixing controls from Tahoe macOS.
On a note related to space audio, Apple says that audio applications only as vocal memos now have the possibility of recording audio in the Quicktime QTA audio format.
