When Jade Roper Tolbert asked for an AI-generated Christmas family portrait, a bonus face appeared – and she found special meaning in it.
The Bachelor A 39-year-old alumnus decided to take part in a popular AI trend by asking ChatGPT to generate a fake family portrait inspired by Norman Rockwell paintings. But when the chatbot created the image, an additional person appeared in the photo – and Jade said she thought it was her late son, Beau.
Alongside Jade, her husband, Tanner Tolbert, and their three young children — sons Reed, 5, and Brooks, 6, and daughter Emerson, 8 — another little boy appeared in the AI-generated Christmas portrait, according to Instagram Stories posts she shared on Saturday, Dec. 27.
The former reality star said she thought the boy was Beau, the son the couple lost to a miscarriage in 2023.

“Was the Norman Rockwell and an extra boy party trend in our image,” Jade wrote, “and it touched my heart because of course Beau would want to do the family photo. 🥰.”
Jade then asked the AI chatbot to correct the error, so that only the family of five appeared in the fake portrait, as is the case in the submitted reference image, she shared in another post. But the result was not entirely satisfactory.
“But now it’s a bit empty,” she wrote alongside the new image.
Also on Instagram Stories, the former Bachelor The star shared the prompt she gave to the AI chatbot, which read: “Can you turn our family into a Norman Rockwell Christmas-themed photo with different poses than in this photo? Make it even cuter and cozy!”

Jade opened up about her miscarriage in a emotional Instagram post on August 13, 2023, writing: “Having a hard time knowing what to write here while experiencing a miscarriage.”
“I felt like all my dreams were coming true: welcoming another baby into our lives, loving and completing our family,” she continued at the time. “Although our hearts are completely broken and we face the deep and complex grief of this loss, we were fortunate to be touched by his soul during his short time. I am forever changed.”
She then explained, “I’m currently experiencing what’s called a missed miscarriage, so even though her heart has stopped and her growth has stopped (for a while now), my body has not yet induced the pregnancy. I’m hoping to do it naturally and I’m confident in the timing and in my body under my provider’s care.”

“I have carried him with so much pride and cherish every moment that I have left with a part of him, but it has also been just as difficult and devastating,” she continued before concluding the message with a touching tribute.
“So while I hold my belly here, our sweet baby’s body rests in my belly while his soul flies away,” she wrote, referring to her pose in the attached photo. “We love you with every piece of our heart, baby Beau ❤️.”
A few months later, Jade and her family honored Beau’s due date, January 2024, by sharing a heart-shaped cake that had his name on the day she would have welcomed him into the world.
