  • This is the first update after the recent Google Home redesign rolled out with version 4.0.
  • The changelog for the latest update shows that the app gets several improvements and fixes based on user feedback.

Google has released version 4.1 of the Google Home app, marking the first major update since the app’s big overhaul earlier this month. The company says it’s listening to user feedback and rolling out several small but significant improvements to the Google Home experience.

With the latest update 4.1“Ask Home” feature, powered by Gemini, expands to more Google Home Premium subscribers.

The update should also make the app smoother, especially on iOS. Google notes that if multiple camera feeds are marked as favorites, scrolling in the Home tab should now be noticeably more responsive.

Android users also benefit from a small but practical solution. The “All On” button for lights will now correctly be grayed out when not all lights are on, improving accuracy in the Lights category.

Finally, Google cleared up some slight confusion in Ask Home’s “Home Brief” headlines, which sometimes incorrectly labeled yesterday’s updates as “today’s.”
