- Oakley’s meta-lunettes should arrive on June 20.
- Intelligent glasses will be similar to Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses and should be oriented towards athletes.
- While Meta also works on more advanced smart glasses with integrated screens, this Oakley brand version should ignore the display.
Oakley and Meta announced that “the next development is coming on June 20”. This strongly suggests that the two brands are finally ready to reveal the long-term successor of the Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses. Oakley and Meta started teasing The coming outing on their respective social networks. Meta also launched A registration page For those who want to be informed as soon as the glasses are officially released.
Although companies have not revealed details on the design, specifications or features of the new glasses, their collaboration was previously disclosed via Bloomberg. According to the code name Supernova 2, the new smart glasses will probably offer features similar to the Ray-Ban meta-lunes. While Meta also works on more advanced smart glasses with integrated screens, this Oakley brand version should ignore screens.
Instead, Oakley’s meta-lunettes should be intended for athletes and are based on the Oakley Spaera model (photo above). In particular, the design of the new glasses could include a camera positioned centrally instead of the style mounted on the side that we have seen on the shelves. This change aims to improve conviviality for cyclists and other athletes.
Since large material improvements are not expected, Oakley meta-lunes will probably be assessed in the same way as current Ray-Ban meta-lunes, from around $ 299. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait much longer to see exactly what Oakley and Meta worked on.
