Nothing has dropped a new teaser on X, suggesting that the company will soon push Android 16 to update its smartphones. The deployment will cover the phone 2, the phone 2A and recently launched the phone 3. The news comes just a few weeks after the launch of the company’s last flagship product, the phone 3, which arrived in July with nothing OS 4.0 out of the box.
The next version of the software will be based on Android 16, superimposed with nothing OS 4.0. Although nothing makes a spectacular overhaul, society would focus on refinement.
A teaser shared by the brand shows circular icons on default applications, referring to a cleaner and more unified interface. The company even used the words “refined and redefined” to describe the new look.
In addition to design adjustments, users can expect usual improvements to Android 16, including better safety, confidentiality updates and performance increases. Nothing should also refine its light operating system to keep the catchy interface close to the stock android.
The update should arrive soon, although nothing has yet shared a fixed release date. Closed beta tests have already started for some users, suggesting that public deployment is not too far.
Unfortunately, the first generation phone (1) may not be included in the Stable Android 16 upgrade 16. Instead, the objective seems to be to ensure a fluid experience for the phone 2 and the telephone owners 3. The update is more likely to hit the phone 3 first.
Android 16’s announcement comes just after the buzz around the phone 3, which was the most ambitious device of the company to date. Launched in July, it did not introduce anything OS 4.0 with a refined interface, improved performance and the same emblematic transparent design. With the update that is now heading for older models, nothing is trying to keep their coherent ecosystem between the devices.
