The update is the construction number BP41.250822.010. Google explained in the press release noted that a new requirement called verification of the Android developer is designed to link people or organizations with their Android applications. This will make it more difficult for malicious actors to disseminate malware, financial fraud, identity theft or other harmful applications by being anonymous.
From September 2026 and in specific regions, Android will demand that the applications be recorded by developers verified to be installed on certified Android devices, with an exception for installations made via the Android Debug bridge (ADB).
