Report: Apple to unveil the overhaul of the “Solarium” user interface for all devices on WWDC

To date, we have heard a lot of rumors about the overhaul of Apple’s design for iOS 19 and MacOS 16. With only two weeks for WWDC 2025, Mark Gurman de Bloomberg reports That the recasting of the user interface will be applied to all Apple operating systems, not just iOS or macOS.

The update interface is called “Solarium” after the glass structures that allow the sun. Apple was probably trying to drop an index on the code name with the logo for the next WWDC event (above). The new user interface will give operating systems a smoother and modern appearance and will borrow a lot of Visionos elements, adds the report.

Gurman previously reported That the recasting of the user interface would be the most important for iPhones since iOS 7 in 2013 and for Macs since MacOS Big on in 2020.

A flee By YouTuber Jon Prosser last month, also said that options in dialogue boxes, application menus and search bars are also defined to receive rounded corners. His leak also tilted a floating translucent navigation menu and repositioning the search bar at the bottom of the screen.

According to Gurman, all the design changes announced at WWDC for iOS, iPados and MacOS will also be applied to TVOS and Watchos to ensure consistency. Since Visionos will lend many of its elements, it should only receive minor adjustments that make sense for the vision pro helmet, he adds.

Apple’s approach to change differs considerably from that of competitors like Google and Samsung. While the recent events of these companies have focused heavily on AI, Apple’s event will mainly focus on design and appearance, says Gurman.

Meanwhile, Apple has not yet published many Siri AI capabilities announced at WWDC from last year. At least three proceedings were brought against the company for delaying features and circulating iPhone 16 deceptive iPhone announcements concerning Apple Intelligence.

Apple also faces a price pressure. Last week, President Trump threatened to impose a 25% price on iPhones if they are made in India instead of the United States.
