Samsung Dex obtains a redesign using the office mode of Android 16

Samsung has offered a reworked DEX experience in an 8 User Interface based on the new desktop mode of Android 16 and, although most of the features are there, you could find different little treats.

Samsung has built DEX as an office -supplied office planned by phone for a better decade now, the functionality that has made its debut on the 2017 Galaxy S8 series. The function has improved regularly over time, but a user interface 8 gives it a new layer of paint to go with its new engine under the hood, Car Samsung Dex is now powered by the Android 16 office mode.

At Google I / S, it was finally announced that Android obtains appropriate support in desktop mode with Android 16, using Dex as a base. The functionality is live in beta at the moment and still quite rough on the edges, but Samsung has taken it and has built a new Dex experience that makes its debut on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7.

The new experience, for the most part, feels almost identical to what preceded. You will get new user interface elements in the quick panel, but things are quite similar overall. Certain notable changes that we have spotted include the deletion of a dedicated Dex tab in the settings when you are connected to an external display (replaced by the “Connected View” menu), and the “Exit Dex” button is no longer in the application drawer. On the right side, however, this application drawer now scrolls vertically. The taskbar also reflects the applications moored on the screen of your phone. This is one of the places where we can see the connective tissue between Google’s office mode in Android 16 QPR1 and the Samsung Dex Update Experience.

The people of Android authority I found some additional modifications such as the deletion of certain right click options for the office and the taskbar, the user interface elements are now visible when video applications are in full screen mode, the “PIN” application option has been deleted from Windows and several other quality of life adjustments.

Compared to the “stock” office mode of Android 16, Dex feels much more complete despite some deficiencies of the fully personalized Samsung solution. But, overall, the large major of people using Dex – which is a niche on the market anyway – will probably not notice any significant difference.
