Fintech ZBD allowed Bitcoin’s native microtransactions in Mandeduck Sarutobi’s mobile game.

This decision makes it one of the first iOS games to present purchases in the native application using Bitcoin via the Lightning network of ZBD.

Sarutobi’s revival on iOS has come in response to regulatory changes such as the law on digital markets and the EPIC VS Apple decision, which are convincing platforms like Apple to allow alternative payment methods.

A historical change

Sarutobi was originally launched in 2013 but was removed from the App Store because of its Bitcoin integration. He returned later without Bitcoin functionality, but now, more than a decade later, Bitcoin is back in the game and allows “much more payment mechanisms”.

ZBD said that this model naturally goes with a rewarded gameplay, which allows players to win small amounts of Bitcoin via a gameplay and spend them in the same title.

The firm Fintech believes that integration marks an important step in its mission to pay programmable payments in interactive entertainment.

“Apple approval of Bitcoin microtransactions in Sarutobi is a historic change,” said the co-founder of ZBD and CTO André Neves.

“Technology for open and developer -based payments have been around for some time. What has changed was the regulatory environment that opened the doors.

“With Bitcoin, developers can now create instant, programmable and borderless payments until it is not.
