Have you ever been taken in a situation where you have a software update to load on your iPhone, but have you not yet had enough storage space? You are therefore obliged to go through your applications to decide which one you really need. Do you want to keep CSPAN? Do you really need the 22 weather applications that you have downloaded from your iPhone? You therefore delete certain applications and hope you have opened enough space to load the software update.
The actual part of the version notes discussing this new feature indicates: “Depending on the quantity of free space available, iOS could dynamically reserve the update space for automatic updates to download and successfully install.” Think about the size of this for application hobby or even simply iPhone users who like to shop in the App Store.
What we do not yet know is how the dynamic storage reserve works, the quantity of storage that Apple will be able to create in the reserve, if iPhone users will be allowed to withdraw from the functionality, and if iPhone users will receive a notification indicating them that they have a certain amount of storage retained for the next software update. With the new feature, the process of installing software updates on your iPhone will be more transparent and less worrying by assuming that the dynamic storage reserve is doing its thing.

Currently, iOS uses a temporary functionality which requires storage to be temporarily created and used during an iOS update. This temporary workspace can be two to three times the size of the downloaded file as a software update. This space is necessary during the update process to maintain unpacked files. It is at this stage of the update route that you could receive a message reading “not enough storage”.
