Before the expressive redesign of complete equipment 3, the phone by Google largely removes the favorite tab for users registered in the beta program.
As announced last month, a “favorite bar” at the top of the flow of recent (soon “at home”) replaces the dedicated tab. This interface had a grid of your main contacts and a list of “frequent” below.
Now you will get a favorite carousel with profile avatars that are larger than in the list below. Scroll on the left for a shortcut “Add”, while you can press the chevron to hide the carousel if necessary.
Old vs new
This simplifies the application to the recents, contacts and voicemail, as well as the FAB (floating action button) for the digital pavement. Beta version 182 of the phone by Google published yesterday largely introduces the change, although there is also a component on the server side, you may not see it immediately after the update. This applies to Pixel and Non Google phones, as well as those without expressive redesign of equipment 3 that some users began to receive last month with the new incoming call gesture. We do not yet see that in the stable chain.
The favorite tab also disappears for Google Phone users with expressive M3, which is not yet widely deployed to everyone in the beta version, although it is always called the recent tab.
The complete expressive redesign will consolidate the bar less than the house, the keyboard and the vocal messaging.
