The iPhone 17 Pro Triple 48MP cameras increase the Android flagship product bar

This new sensor presents a design of tetraprism which, according to Apple, is 56% larger than the previous generation. Consequently, the telephoto lens camera is capable of capturing sharper images in bright light and offers more details in low light. There are 4x optical zoom at 100 mm for portraits, and Apple says that the 8x to 200 mm optical zoom is the longest of the iPhone.

This is a significant leap that will surely not go unnoticed by its Android rivals. On the other hand, you could see this as Android forcing Apple’s hand to improve its specifications.

Rightly so, the owners of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will have the opportunity to put this new camera to the test with new features. These features include:

  • Prores RAW: this is a video codec developed by Apple. The iPhone 17 Pro will be the first smartphone to support the format.
  • Apple Log 2: supports a wider range of colors, diffused image frequencies and the recording of the open door.
  • Genlock and support for temporal code: allows precise video synchronization.
  • Dolby Vision HDR Recording: supports 4K 120FPS recording.
  • Double capture: allows you to record simultaneously on the front and rear cameras.
  • Central presentation: use AI to automatically extend the field of vision so that you can go from portrait to the landscape without turning the device.

The iPhone 17 Pro will be available in three configurations: 256 GB ($ 1,099), 512 GB ($ 1,299) and 1 TB ($ 1,499). Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is available in four configurations: 256 GB ($ 1,199), 512 GB ($ 1,399), 1 TB ($ 1599) and 2TB ($ 1,999).
