The owners of Google Pixel report slow to Wake Lockscreen on Android 16

If you have updated on Android 16 and you have noticed that your Google Pixel device is slower to wake up or exceed the locking screen, you are not alone.

The initial version of Android 16 for Google Pixel devices does not really feel different from Android 15, but there are changes under the hood in preparation for the future. The update is, on the whole, quite stable, but some owners of Google Pixels have found a problem.

On the Stable Android 16 version, some report that the display of their Google Pixel is slow to wake up and go to The Lockscreen after this last update. The problem, reported on several threads on Google forums And RedditLeave the device either slow to wake up when the screen is tapped, when the power button is driven, or both. When the screen finally comes to life, the locking screen is a little late when it goes to the rest of Android.

For obvious reasons, it’s a bit frustrating.

In particular, my own Pixel 9 Pro Fold is experimenting on the Android 16 QPR1 BETA version, but users report it on the Stable Android 16 update.

Some users say that a restart temporarily solves the problem, but it seems persistent. Google, as far as we have seen, has not recognized the problem or promised corrective, but there are just enough relationships on this behavior that we will almost certainly see a corrective in the future not too distant.
