- The Pixel 10 series can now join the Beta Android program.
- Pixel 10 phones now appear with an option to adapt to the Android 16 QPR2 beta program.
Google finally opened the Pixel 10 series on the Android Beta program. When the phones were launched for the first time, they were not eligible to register, but it changes now. If you have a Pixel 10, 10 Pro or 10 Pro XL, it should now appear alongside your other phones supported on the Android Beta program page.
The update was first spotted by Reddit users, and we have confirmed it ourselves. Our Pixel 10 Pro XL now appears with an option to adapt to the Android 16 QPR2 beta program. As always, you will have to press the Opt-in button and accept the terms and conditions before you can install the beta version.
I don’t want to miss the best of Android authority?
Before jumping in the first head, you must know the risks of registering for the Android Beta program. After having opted, you may not be able to return to the stable version of Android without factory reset, which will erase all the stored data locally. Even if you get back in advance, the restorations are not guaranteed to work smoothly, because the backups made on a beta version may not be entirely compatible with the stable version.
However, the Android Beta program certainly has its advantages and is particularly attractive for enthusiasts. You will have early access to the next Android features of the months before publishing the public version. This could mean new user interface adjustments, updated system applications, performance optimizations or even new AI features. If you don’t mind the occasional bug or two, the Android Beta program is a great way to stay ahead of everyone on stable construction.
