The survey shows that people are deeply divided into pixel battery problems

The pixels are among the best Android phones that money can buy, but if there is a problem that keeps haunting them constantly, it is the safety of the batteries.

We have seen battery overheating problems removing the Pixel 4A. The Pixel 6a took further, and in an alarming case, it would have completely melted. More recently, Google has recognized that a set of Pixel 7A units knew “unexpected” swelling.

In response, Google expels software updates that reduce load capacity and maximum speed, and offers replacements or compensation in certain cases. But these solutions are more likely to put a dressing on a problem that requires a more permanent solution, especially when swollen batteries pose a serious security risk and pixel phones should last longer than ever, thanks to the prolonged update commitments of Google.

So we decided to ask our readers – do battery problems discourage you with pixel phones? Given the security implications, you expect the answer to be a resounding “yes”, but it is interesting to note that the results of the survey carried out on our site have proven to be deeply divided.

Do the battery concerns discourage your pixel?

We have received around 3,000 votes in our survey to ask people if the safety of the batteries or its absence would discourage them from pixel phones. 46% of respondents said they were concerned about the safety of pixel batteries. On the other hand, an almost equal 44% said they are not too worried and still believe that pixels are solid phones despite recurring problems. The remaining 10% were undecided.

It is a surprisingly close split, and the comments gave us a better idea of hesitation and users of trust pixels (and potential buyers) at the moment.

What readers say

Some candidates have expressed serious concerns according to their personal experience. A user shared that his pixel 6A overheat despite the tests of several chargers, including the official Google accessories. “I don’t know what to do and I worry about leaving it too long,” they said.

Another reader highlighted several incidents among their friends, including a pixel 7 that caught fire. “It looks more and more like real problems, and that the corners that cannot be cut have been cut,” they commented.

Some comments have also shown signs of dropping loyalty to the Pixel brand. A Pixel 6a owner noted: “For the moment, my 6a warms up, but no other problem. I will not get another pixel, however, in the next year. I’m going to look around and see what is available elsewhere. I am disappointed that they go my phone. ”

Pixel battery problems are clearly not universal, but they are not rare either to ignore.

That said, many respondents also defended pixel phones. A user pointed out: “I never had a single problem and I owned all the bonds / pixels released”, while another said: “I have never had a pixel problem apart from a few stupid things, and that’s probably my mistake.” Obviously, all pixel users do not encounter battery -related problems, and many stick by the brand.

Meanwhile, some readers also argued that battery problems are not specific to Google. “Had two pixels 7as and now a 9a pixel. No problem,” said a user. “Isn’t that just in the nature of what is fairly volatile components?” Can happen to any lithium battery if it is not treated properly. ”

The essentials and what we collect from the results of the survey is that the pixel battery problems are clearly not universal, but they are not rare either to ignore. Some users have had great experiences with Google phones, while others are worried or experience overheating, swelling and even dangerous failures. That said, one thing is clear – for a company that now promises seven years of updates, Google must do more than patcher things with software.
