This Android video is so good that I thought it was AI. It is not

Humanoid robots are progressing quickly and many of them have appeared on the pages of digital trends in the past year, including impressive efforts by Boston Robotics, Uniree, Figure and Limx Dynamics.

All these robots have a very mechanical and industrial appearance, their designers which move away from a more realistic Android look.

Enter Aheadform. The Chinese robotics company recently shared a video (above) showing an surprisingly realistic humanoid head. In fact, the video was so remarkable that I had to check if it was generated by AI. This is not the case.

The so-called “unique head” is described as a “facial robot” designed for research, interaction and high-end display scenarios.

The incredible device incorporates a full facial actuation system with up to 25 micro-motors allowing realistic expressions capable of portraying all human emotions.

Only students in the head contain cameras for visual perception, while its integrated microphones and speakers allow real-time audio interaction.

“Compact and powerful, the Head module can be mounted on various bases or integrated into larger robotic systems, which makes it an ideal platform for IA studies focused on emotions, the search for interaction by the robot man and the facilities based on the characters”, explains society.

Aheadform was founded in 2024 by doctoral student Columbia Yuhang Hu. Robotics told South China Morning Post in 2024 that he thought we are heading for a time when we will not be able to differentiate between a human and an Android.

“In 10 years, we could interact with the robots and have the impression of being almost human”, ” Hu saidAdding: “Maybe in 20 years, they could walk normally and perform tasks like a human.”

Yes, everything becomes a bit of science fiction in the world of robots. Fuse this extraordinary face with a humanoid robot fueled by Ai like the Atlas and the Boston Dynamic things of Uniree could start to become really bizarre.

“”WestworldLet’s go, “said a person on X.” Oh, we’re screwed up, “said another.

On a more positive note, realistic androids could potentially improve daily life by offering the company and support in areas such as health care, care for the elderly, education and therapy. We had to quine each other first.
