Apple announces iOS 26 with a “Liquid Glass” design, a live translation, a revised telephone application, and more

Apple AT WWDC announced iOS 26, introducing a complete visual overhaul built around its new “Liquid Glass” concept, alongside the extended capacities of Apple Intelligence, updates of basic communication applications, etc.

Liquid glass is a translucent material which reflects and refracts the surroundings to create dynamic and reactive interface elements, according to Apple. The new design language transforms the locking screen, where time adapts fluidly to the space available in wallpapers, and space scenes add 3D effects when users move their iPhone. Meanwhile, application icons and widgets earn new customization options, including a striking clear appearance.

Apple unveils the macOS Tahoe with a liquid glass design, a telephone application, a live translation and more

Apple announced this week MacOS Tahoe 26 at WWDC 2025, introducing a striking visual overhaul alongside Apple intelligence capacities and new continuity features that more include Mac and iPhone work flows.

Similar to iOS 26, the updates of MacOS Tahoe focus on what Apple calls a “new magnificent design” built with liquid glass, a translucent material which reflects the surrounding elements. The quay, the side bars and the toolbars have been refined to underline the content, while a completely transparent menu bar makes the screens larger. Users obtain in -depth personalization options, including colored application icons, customizable backrest colors with EMOJI symbols and improved control center arrangements.

Apple announces Watchos 26 with a liquid glass design, a training boyfriend and a smart battery intelligence

Apple announced Watchos 26 on WWDC, postponing the “liquid glass” design language of iOS 26 on the wrist while providing a new fitness functionality powered by AI called Workout Buddy and an update smart battery functionality.

Liquid Glass uses real -time rendering to create translucent interface elements that reflect and refract the content. The design appears on smart battery widgets, the control center, notifications and navigation in the application. The face of the photo watch also receives liquid glass numbers, showing more photos of users via the display.

Workout Buddy uses Apple Intelligence to analyze training data and physical condition history, providing a motivation spoken during exercise sessions, while the intelligent battery adds an indices functionality using contextual data, sensor information and routine models for usable suggestions. These appear as visual prompts on the screen, such as Backtrack in remote locations or training suggestions when arriving at fitness locations.

TVOS 26 adds these new features to your Apple TV

Apple announced this week TVOS 26, which is now available in the developer Beta. The next software update includes a handful of new features for Apple TV, although some of the changes are only available on new models.

The most obvious change is the new liquid glass design, which has also been introduced to iOS 26, iPados 26, MacOS 26 and Watchos 26. The new design language includes shimmering application icons and translucent elements that reflect colors. The new design is only visible on the Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) and Apple TV 4K (3rd generation).

Other new features in TVOS 26 include a new optional user profile selection screen when you wake up, the possibility of using an iPhone as a microphone for Apple Music Sing, Facetime Improvements, new aerial screen savers, etc.

Visionos 26 announced with space widgets, shared experiences, improved characters and more

Apple AT WWDC announced Visionos 26, bringing space widgets, considerably improved characters and new collaborative experiences to Apple Vision Pro users.

Apple says that the update transforms widgets into space objects that fit perfectly into user physical environments. These customizable widgets – including clock, weather, music and photos – offer unique interactions and persist in space whenever users are targeting vision pro. Users can decorate their environment with panoramas, space photos, distinctive clock faces and quick access to Apple music reading lists. The new Widgets application helps discover compatible widgets from iOS and iPados applications, according to Apple.

Elsewhere, the characters receive their most important upgrade to date, taking advantage of volumetric rendering and automatic learning for striking expressiveness and sharpness. Improved avatars are now displaying complete side profiles with remarkably precise hair, eyelashes and foundations.
