Tvos and Watchos to receive a major overhaul at WWDC 2025 with a transparent user interface, elements inspired by visionos and a unified design language on Apple platforms

Apple’s WWDC event is a few days and the company is preparing to announce a plethora of features and frontal modifications. Even if the company has reached stagnation with regard to design and innovation, it will bring certain modifications that will break the fate. A new report says that Apple Watchos and Tvos operating systems for Apple Watch and Apple TV will see a major overhaul on various aspects, alongside iOS 19.

Apple is preparing to transform TVOS and Watchos with modern visuals and a seamless multi -platus design integration

IOS 19 had to be a greater update than expected, because the company planned to rethink different aspects of the home screen. We have heard details on the icons of circular applications and upgrades of Apple’s intelligence for the iPhone and that only shows that the company is on a role to offer more than the users expected.

It seems that the company’s ambitions are greater than what we have previously received. Mark Gurman declares in his last Power on Newsletter That Watchos 12 and TVOS 19 will also make a handful of major visual design modifications for the Apple TV and the Apple Watch. Apart from that, Visionos should also obtain minor touch -ups.

Today’s report is an indication that Apple plans to rethink all of its software platforms for its entire range of products. Apple has worked to unify the design aspects of operating systems for its devices and the next updates will be added to the company’s ambitions. We previously pointed out that the company was inspired by the design of visionos with its transparent glass effects and that we could possibly see the same change applied to the entire range of operating systems.

In addition to the transparent effects, we have also been able to see changes in the navigation hierarchies in applications, new icons and much more. Apple’s WWDC 2025 illustrations also highlight the same transparent elements, which is an intelligent representation of what happens in the next two weeks. While IOS, Watchos and MacOS have received their share of visual revision in recent years, TVOS has remained the same. This time, the company plans to change this by offering a handful of variations for a whole new experience on the Apple TV.

At this stage, the TVOS user interface seems a bit obsolete compared to other software updates and a design overhaul could raise the user experience. If we are lucky, Apple could rationalize the appearance of iOS and tvos, but it remains to be seen if the company will take this route or separate the two versions.

According to Gurman, the “adjustments” of the user interface will revolve around a design inspired by visionos, which means that the transparent effects come into play at WWDC for TVOS as well as the rest of the operating systems.
